W/VE Islands Contest

OBJECT:
-------
WORK AS MANY AMERICAN AND CANADIAN ISLANDS ON HF 
(10, 15, 20, 40, 80 and 160 meters) AS POSSIBLE. 
Hams world-wide are welcome to participate. 
All fresh water or saltwater islands count for awards provided 
they qualify for USI or CISA (Canadian Islands Awards). 
Please ensure that the islands qualify before the end of the 
scoring date. New islands should be referred to as "new" until an 
official number is assigned later.

INSTRUCTIONS:
-------------
 Island Stations: 
 work as many other W or VE island stations and non-island stations as 
 possible.

 Non-Island Stations: 
 work W or VE islands only.


 Rover Stations: 
 same as (A) but must submit separate entries per island. 
 Include all island total scores on a grand recap sheet.

 Categories 1 and 2: 
 MUST be submitted as separate entries. 
 Stations competing in multiple categories must submit completely 
 separate entries. DO NOT combine scores. 


EXCHANGE:
---------
 Island stations (A) and rovers (C) send signal report, USI or CISA# 
 and island name.

 Non-island stations (B) send signal report and state or 
 province/territory or country.

Note: Work island stations only once per island per mode.


SCORING:
--------
 Island stations and rovers receive 1 point for each non-island 
 station worked and 5 points for each island station (USI/CISA) worked.

 Non-island stations receive 5 points for each island station 
 (USI/CISA) worked.

 Logs, hard copy or electronic, must be submitted by 
 September 9, 2000 to the Contest Manager.


MULTIPLIERS:
------------
Each different state or province/territory worked counts once as a 
multiplier for Category A through C.

DX is NOT a multiplier


AWARDS:
-------
All entries will be tabulated. Send your entry to the contest manager. 
Award certificates and plaques will be provided to all submissions 
scoring over 1000 points after verification. Plaques will be provided 
for each category winner. 

For multi-op operations, all operators qualify for a certificate 
regardless of callsign used. However, USI will provide only one plaque 
to the contest call sign of a category winner. Please contact the 
Contest Manager for details on obtaining additional plaques.

NOTE:

Entries must be complete, legible, conform to the rules above, and 
submitted to the contest manager no later than September 9, 2000 in
 order to qualify. Entries cannot be returned. Do not send original 
logs; instead, send copies of logs, recap sheet and dupe sheet. 
Include a SASE with any mailed entries so that the contest manager can 
verify their receipt (very important). The contest rules will be 
strictly adhered to and the decision of the Contest Manager is final.
