Manchester Mineira Contest

01 - The contest is a South American competition organized by CWJF 
     Group of CW associating itself to the commemorations of the 
     anniversary of the City of Juiz de Fora - MG, Brazil and has as 
     objectives:
 
a) Promote unity among the radio amateurs of Brazil and South America; 
b) Promote the City of Juiz de Fora; 
c) Facilitate conditions for obtaining the CWJF Awards; 
d) Integration of the Clubs, Groups and Radio Amateurs practicing CW 
   in South America. 


02 - Date and Time - 
     The contest will be held on the third weekend of 
     May beginning at 15:00 hrs UTC on Saturday and finishing at 
     24:00 hrs UTC on Sunday.

03 - Type of Transmission and Bands - 
     Only for CW (A1A) on the 80, 40, 20, 15 and 10 meter bands.. 


04 - Contacts - 
     Contacts between amateurs in the same country and with 
     those in South America (DXCC list) are valid and repeat contacts 
     are permitted in different bands. 


05 - Call - 
     CQ TEST JF. 


06 - Message - 
     Send only the RST. 

6.1: Members of CWJF should send RST / M; 
6.2: QRP Stations even though members should send RST / QRP; 
6.3: YL Stations, even though members, send RST / YL. 


07 - Points - 
     In all bands. 

     a) Contacts confirmed for 2 points. 
     b) Contacts confirmed with Members of CWJF, QRP stations and YL 
     stations, for 5 points. 


08 - Multipliers - 
     Are different prefixes worked in each band, including special 
     prefix. 


09 - Final Score - 
     Will be the sum of the points in each band multiplied by the sum 
     of the multipliers obtained in each band. 


10 - Categories - 

     a) SINGLE OPERAT. / one band only (80,40,20,15,10) 
     b) SINGLE OPERAT. / Multibands 
     c) QRP / Multiband / (10 W maximum) 
     d) CLASS "C" / Multiband / (Brazil Only - PU's) 
     e) Clubs or Groups / Multibands. 


11 - Awards - 

     a) "MANCHESTER MINEIRA" Trophy: Will be awarded to the Radio 
        Amateur that obtains the largest final score, therefore called 
        the absolute winner. 
     b) Plaques: Plaques will be awarded to Amateurs that obtain 1st, 
        2nd, and 3rd places in each category. (See Item 12) 

11.1 - North-Northeast Trophy : 

       This trophy will be disputed by those amateurs (only from Brazil) 
       that operated and state from these regions, independently of 
       the category chosen, with the winner having the highest final 
       score. However if the Radio amateur is the absolute finalist 
       or first place in any category, this trophy will be in 2nd 
       place. Stations in Category "E" will not participate in this 
       dispute. 

11.2 -"AMERICA" Trophy : 

      Will be disputed simultaneously by amateurs in South America 
      (except Brazil), independently of the category chosen, with the 
      winner having highest final score. However if the Radio amateur 
      is the absolute finalist or first place in any category, this 
      trophy will be in 2nd place. Stations in Category "E" will not 
      participate in this dispute. 

11.3 - Top CW Trophy : 

      Will be awarded to the amateur that participates 2 
      consecutives years in the Contest (95 / 96 - 97 / 98 ...) and 
      obtains the highest pointes when their scores are summed up. 
      Stations in Category "E" will not participate in this dispute. 


12 - Observations - 
     In each category if there are only 15 participants, only a 
     trophy for 1st place will be given. If there are 16 to 30 
     participants, a 2nd place will be awarded, and for 30 or more 
     participants, a 3rd place will be awarded. 


13 - Logs - 
     Should be sent in before June 30th, based on post mark, and 
     accompanied by sufficient postage (3 IRC's for South American 
     stations) for later mailing results. The logs should be sent to 
     CWJF

     A separate log should be sent for each band. 
     For those who desire confirmation of receipt of the log, 
     please send a self addressed stamped envelope (SASE) if from 
     Brazil, or 1 IRC from a South America. 


14 - Results - 
     Will be sent only to participants, 60 days before next contest. 
     Awards will be presents in Juiz de Fora, MG or sent via mail. 


ATTENTION:
Receipt of your log by the Contest Organization is the final cortesy 
of those who participate in a contest. 

Let's participate. 

Invite and incentive other Radio Amateurs especially those who 
normally do not participate in contests. 

Promote the station of your Club or your city or your CW Group.
