American and Canadian Island Contest

The United States Islands Awards Program (US I) and the Canadian Islands
Awards Program (CISA) present their first annual island contest!

Type of Competition:
--------------------
Work as many American and Canadian islands on HF as possible. SWL's are 
welcome to participate.  All fresh or saltwater islands count for awards
provided they are registered with US I or CISA (ie have a number). If you
live on a state island or a provincial/territorial island or can activate
one but don't know if it is US I or CISA registered, please contact John,

VE3XN (5 McLaren Ave., Listowel, Ont., Canada, N4W 3K1) for "VE islands"
info. Please include a SASE

A. Island station (W or VE only)
B. Non-island station (anyone anywhere)
   Island stations (A) work as many other island stations and non-island
   stations as possible.  Non-island stations (B) work as many island
   stations as possible

1. Island stations send signal rpt, US I# or CISA# and island name.
2. Non-island stations send signal rpt and state, prov. or country.

* WORK EACH STATION ONLY ONCE PER BAND REGARDLESS OF MODE *

Points:

1. Island stations receive 1 point for each non-island station worked and
   5 points for each island station worked
2. Non-island stations receive 5 pts for each island station worked

Multipliers:
------------
each different state, prov. or terr. worked counts once as a multiplier for
Category A and B

Awards:

Certificates (red-wh-bl) are available to anyone submitting an entry for
Category A or B along with $5.00 (US) and a certificate-sized SASE. Special
recognition for the top 10 entrants of each category will be listed on each
certificate and mentioned in a future US I packet bulletin (ISLDX).
