The Merv Stinson Memorial Sprint Contest

the Redcliffe radio club would like to invite all amateurs and SWL's to
participate in the second Merv Stinson Memorial sprint contest which will
be held on the first saturday in june. This contest is held to remember
the assistance and effort Merv gave to help many people gaining their
certificates of proficiency and the Redcliffe radio club during club
activities such as contesting the John Moyle field day

Purpose:
--------
The purpose of the contest is to aid people in attaining proficiency in
operating procedures, fine tuning of equipment and introducing people to
the sport of contesting
This contest is one of three sprint contests over a three month period. It
is hoped that contestants entering all three sprints could enhance and
improve there contesting skills and equipment over this period. Due to the
short period of the contest any person investing one hour on than saturday
night can be competertive and has a chance of winning

Type of Competition:
--------------------
The object of the contest is to contact(or log QSO's if an SWL) as many
stations as possible in the one hour period without duplication using
single side band or cw. Contacts between any country is valid
This contest is open to all licenced amateur stations and short wave
listeners. Groups are allowed but must only use one callsign and station

3.535 MHz - 3.7 MHz

Mode:

CW, SSB

Exchange:
---------
a valid contact must have an exchange of signal report and serial number.
The serial number will start at 1 and increment with each contact. An
exchange of 591 is valid, this will be considered the same as 59001

Log:
----
the log must show for each contact the time UTC, callsign (or callsigns
for SWL) contacted, report/serial number sent, number received and mode.
A log must have a cover sheet containing name, address of station and
callsign,date of contest, total of number of contacts claimed and a
statement that the operator/s abided to the rules and spirit of the
contest. Any comments should also be included

Disqualification:
-----------------
the contest organisers decision is final and can disqualify any entry
which is in violation of the rules and spirit of the contest or has an
excessive number of duplicate contact claimed as valid contacts

Awards:

Certificates will be awarded to the highest score over all in each section
SSB or CW for each of the Australian call area and to the highest scores
in New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and all other countries combined for both
SWL and station logs. Participation cerificates will also be awarded to
valid logs recieved.
