                       HELP FILE FOR CATLink Pro

1.<Starting CATLink>
(a) Before starting CATLink, set up the FT-736R as follows.
-Switch to SAT mode and insure the SAT receive is in the 2m band (mode B).
    -Place SAT switch to OFF.
    -Place VFO switch to VFO-A.
-Make a note of any "Group Codes" or "Callsign IDs" used for AQS.You will need to enter them at
the "Code Set" or "ID Set" selection while in AQS mode to maintain your original codes. This will
only need to be done once to initialize the Group Code Files.

2.<Selecting frequencies>
(a) Selecting a frequency from one of the memories will change the panel to yellow indicating
the frequency is active. To return to the original frequency which is still on the frequency
display, simply click the appropriate VFO button in the Button Matrix.

(b) Selecting "M/V" will transfer any selected memory frequency to the appropriate VFO display.

(NOTE) If you have not selected the "M/V" option, selected memories will not be transfered to
the appropriate frequency display. This may cause confusion if you minimize the window only
leaving the frequency displays visiable as they will indicate a different frequency than you are
    currently on.

3.<Satellite Mode>
(a) For mode-J satellite work you must first insure the FT-736R is in the
proper satellite mode.To verify this do as follows.
-With the CATLink mode disabled turn the SAT switch on the FT-736R to
RX and check the displayed satellite frequency. If receive frequency is
in the 2m band press the REV button to display the 70cm band.
Return the SAT switch to OFF.Turn ON CATLink.
-To operate mode-B satellite follow the above procedure and change the
satellite receive frequency to the 2m band.

4.<AQS Mode>
(a) During CAT operation and while in AQS mode the Yaesu FT-736R will not accept certain
commands including changing frequencies. Therefore some selections will not be available.
    This is normal.

(b) AQS Group Codes may be selected by a single click. To write a new code, doubleclick
on the appropriate Group Code button and enter a five digit number.

5.<CTCSS>
(a) CTCSS tones will not be initialized when starting CATLink PRO.This is to not interfere with
individual preset CTCSS tones. If you change your CTCSS tone while in CATLink PRO,the
tone selected will remain your default CTCSS tone untill you change it manually or with
    CATLink PRO.

(NOTE) When starting CATLink PRO there will be no indication as to the CTCSS tone you are
currently on untill you change or reselect it.(Please return comments on this function for
    future upgrades)

6.<In Case of Trouble>
(a) If while transmitting using the CAT system and communication between the
computer and the FT-736R gets lost due to (Turning off the program,or
loosing power to the computer ect.) the FT-736R will remain in
transmit mode even if you turn off and back on the FT-736R.
To turn off transmit do the following.
-Turn the power switch on the FT-736R off then on.Simply manually key
the FT-736R with either the microphone PTT or the MOX button on the
FT-736R.The "ON AIR" light and "CAT SYSTEM" display on the FT-736R should
now be off and the FT-736R returned to normal operation.

7.<Offset>
The amount of frequency offset during plus or minus operation is displayed to the left of the clock.

8.<CATLink Pro Demo>
CATLink PRO Demo will only run for 15 minutes. If you do not stop the program before the 15 minutes
it will quit and you will have to reinstall the files from the original 736demo.zip file. This of course will
not happen with the registered version.

9.<Transmit Function>
You may also PTT by clicking down on the logo display "FT-736R Cat System" which is located
   under the VFOA frequency display.

10.<Colors>
You may change the frequency, offset, and clock display colors by clicking on the frequency
    displays.Four colors are available.
