Installing a New Drive

  This section describe the procedure to install a 1.05 Gbyte disk drive
  into the SPARCstation 5 chassis or the SPARCstation 20 chassis.

  1. Determine the position of the drive that you are installing.
    If you are installing a drive in the bottom position and need to
    remove the drive in the top position, do NOT accidently install
    the drive that was in the top position into the bottom
    position. The position of the drive in the chassis affects its
    SCSI target address. SCSI address 1 is automatically assigned to
    the top position, and SCSI address 3 is automatically assigned to
    the bottom position.
