This directory contains the popper distribution, with some modifications
applied locally. The base is popper 1.831beta, which was the latest version at
the time (25/5/93).

Additions made are:
timeout, as detailed in timeout.patch.
        causes the connection to close after a certain amount of idleness
keepalive
        sets the keepalive option on the socket. This will cause popper to
        quit if the network connection breaks
better mail header detection
        Use Content-Length header to split messages.

beter security
        Do a setuid(uid) before creating the temp files, only works
        for systems with a mode 1777 /var/{spool/,}mail and is
        necessary on those systems.  No need to chown the .pop file
        either.

/etc/shadow support.
