*CONFERENCES, TUTORIALS and WORKSHOPS*

The Sun User Group's reputation for providing the finest technical
talks and educational sessions is unparalleled.  Our tutorial program
is one of the most sought after in the business and will be appearing
at several conferences and tradeshows throughout 1994.

Also in 1994, we will be launching our one-day tutorial program.  This
bi-monthly series of intensive seminars are an ideal way to receive
the training in the areas that are important to you.  Upcoming topics

These tutorials will be held in a variety of cities around the United

The Sun User Group is dedicated to keeping in the forefront of Sun and
Sun-licensed technology.  Our tutorials reflect the changing interests
and demands of our technical and professional community. Technical
proceedings, containing written versions of most of the papers
presented at the conferences, are available for the past three SUG
conferences.

 *LOCAL USER GROUPS*

One of the ways of getting to know your colleagues is through a local
user groups.  Local User Groups (LUGs) exist throughout the world.
Currently, there are LUGs in 25 states and 15 countries.  The Sun User
Group supports these local groups with listings, literature, an
electronic mailing list, and organizational assistance.  SUG works
closely with LUGs all across the world to help meet the needs of the
entire Sun/SPARC community. If you are a Sun User Group member and are
interested in finding the LUG in your area, or if you would like to

We've accelerated the publishing schedule of _Readme_ from quarterly
to bi-monthly, so you won't have to wait to get the lastest word from

For our members with electronic mail, the Sun User Group maintains an
electronic mailing list.  The mailing-list is available only as a
benefit of membership in the Sun User Group.

The list is a forum for the discussion of the needs of SUG members,
both from the user group and from vendors.  It also provides SUG with
a fast and easy way to alert users to new developments in user group,
such as new member benefits or late-breaking conference news.

  *SOFTWARE LIBRARY*


Tired of spending late nights combing the Internet for an elusive
piece of software?  Do you spend more time with Archie than with your
own family?  Search no more! The Sun User Group brings the best of the
Internet to you!

The Sun User Group makes available public domain (unsupported,
donated) software libraries.  These CD-ROMS can only be purchased by
current members of the Sun User Group.

The 1991 SUG CD-ROM contains 300MB of source code,
fully-indexed archives of Sun-related net postings,
plug-and-play X11R4, compiled Sun 4 binaries and nearly 200MB
of Sun Micro- systems' software patches.

The 1992.1 disk, which was assembled by Robert A. Bruce, has
543MB of material, including X11R5, 212MB of contributed X
sources, GNU sources, libraries, SPARC binaries, and an
archive of comp.source.X postings.

The 1992.2 disk has nearly 650MB including more SPARC
binaries, resource materials, archives, patches, and source
code not found on previous disks.  

The 1994 SUG CD-Rom is our first compilation which includes
Solaris compatible material.  Over 600mb of binaries,
archives, and migration tools.  The 1994 disk is ready to run,
with an easy to install, self-mounting, start-up script.
