Hello!

We are receiving the fj.* Japanese kanji newsgroups, but we have
discovered that our newsreader 'rn' has a tendency of stripping out
the escape character when displaying the article, making it impossible
for kterm or hterm to convert the sequence into kanji. Our Japanese
readers are having to save the articles to files and then later view
the files in raw mode (e.g., % less -r japanese_file). It would be a
LOT more convenient if they could view the articles in 'rn' as they
already can with English articles. Is there a hacked up version of
'rn' (or another newsreader) that would make this possible?

doomo arigato!
