It is conceivable that these are copyright codes, entries containing
incorrect information that are added merely to be able to prove that a
given copy was a straight copy without understanding rather than
coincidental identical wording of factual information.  Copyright
codes provide the solution widget for at least one Fred Saberhagen
"Berserker" story and one Encyclopoedia Brown mystery.
