First, forgive me for posting in English to a Japanese language group.
This just seemed the likliest place to find an answer to my question.

Q: What is the status of Optical Character Recognition software for Asian
languages? Does it exist? And if so, what's the best way to get it up and
running?

Any advice at all that you might have to offer would be appreciated.
