The Xdt library is not in the public domain. You are welcome to try it out,
read the documentation, and experiment with it for evaluation purposes, but
before you use it for "real" programming, you must obtain a license for
it. There is no fee for a license to this version of the library.

Licenses to this version are obtained by sending the registration form
at the end of this file to rwerner@clark.net.

			Why Register?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You'll notice that there are no license keys required for you to use the
Xdt library. It is distributed as unprotected source code, and there is
nothing to prevent you from compiling and using it on as many platforms
as you like. The Xmt library is not in the public domain--the only thing
that will make you obtain a license for it is your own conscience. This
is not to say that a license is optional--using Xdt without obtaining the
proper licenses is software piracy and is illegal--just that we can't very
effectively enforce that you get a license.

Since there is no fee for the license, you may think it is silly that
I want the license anyway. I will be enhancing the Xdt library over time.
The more people that I _know_ are using it, the more time I will devote to it.
Some day, the library may have enough capabilities to justify a license fee.
If that happens, registered users will be given discounts on whatever
the license fee is. This seems reasonable since those users helped me
determine the potential popularity of the library.

For the record, I borrowed heavily from David Flanagan's Xmt library
in preparing the policies associated with the Xdt library. The Xmt
library is a great resource and I encourage every Motif programmer
to take a look at it.
