0. Requirements

Your system must have installed:
- X11 R5 (or later) with the Athena Widget Set
- GNU flex
- an ANSI-C compiler

To read the documentation you need an HTML-browser (e.g. Mosaic or Lynx).

1. Read the documentation

It will be useful for all further steps to know something about the
proceedings of the XWho-System. Therefore you should read the introduction
in my WWW-page:
  http://wwwschlichter.informatik.tu-muenchen.de/~leliveld/xwho/xwho.html

These files are also included in papers/UserDocs, if you can't access
the originals.

If something isn't understandable or you need informations I have left out,
write me email.

2. Configuration

- put your domain's server-configuration in the file config/xwho.config

- give the XWho-clients some nice layouts in the file config/xwhorc.default

- edit the locations of the installed files in Config.tmpl (for most sites
it is best to leave the file unchanged)

3. Building the binaries

Enter "xmkmf -a; make" and everything should compile smoothly.

If you have problems please mail me a description of the problem and your
system and I'll try to fix this in future releases.

4. Copying the files to their places

Enter "make install install.man".
