Dirt Bag Metacity Theme README
By Corey Taylor <corey.taylor@gemineye.biz>
January 26, 2003

Feel free to re-distribute this theme under the "Dirt Bag" name as long as the following files stay intact and un-modified: README, metacity-theme-1.xml (including the png files in the pngs directory), and GPL.

Feel free to use this theme as a base for your own theme. If you decide to do so, please give your theme an entirely different name, and be original as possible! Also, always remember to give credit where it's due.

For example, I credit Glynn Foster for teaching me how to create a great Metacity theme in his excellent "Designing Metacity Themes" tutorial (http://developer.gnome.org/doc/tutorials/metacity/metacity-themes.html).

Also, I thank everyone who is involved in free software. I'm realizing it's not easy giving away your creations knowing there are people out there who may abuse your openness. The only way free software can survive is if people respect and acknowledge the contributions of others.

A way people can encourage and motivate me to create more is to visit my website http://Gemineye.biz and sign up to my e-letter (only if you want!). Or just simply write me an e-mail and let me know how you like this theme (again, only if you want!).

Thanks for trying Dirt Bag!

Version 0.5 Notes ...

Dirt Bag has improved quite a bit since the last release (0.1). I decided to skip a few version numbers to let people know that I'm about half satisfied with this theme (hence the 0.5 version number). I think the buttons I came up with are quite beautiful, so I will probably stick with them in the next version. Look for the next revision to be more complete in terms of handling different window states.

Version 0.1 Notes ...

Dirt Bag is a theme written for the Metacity window manager application. This first public release (version 0.1) is still rough, but it provides an ideal starting point for those wishing to create a Metacity theme of their own. Stay tuned for the next dirty Dirt Bag release, coming soon!
