Traffic Users Manual:

The 'traffic' program is designed to log and display BPQ port
activity while running under DESQview with LIM EMS 4.0 support.
In order to limit the amount of system resources the program
required it has now been split into two parts :-

TRLOG : Logs Specified BPQ port activity to EMS memory.
This program is normally left running continuously, it
considers itself DESQview friendly and uses as little
             system resources as possible.

TRGUI : Displays data logged by the TRLOG program and interacts
with the user. This program is usually only ever executed
when the user requires to see whats been going on in the
             last twenty four hour period.

Both programs are shipped along with DESQview DVP files to allow easy
user installation. They have been written under and tested using :-

     IBM (Clone) i486
     DOS 5.0
     BPQ V4.06e
     DESQview V2.4
     QEMM386 V6.0 (Supporting LIM EMS 4.0)

Traffic was written and is supported by G7OJC @ GB7ZAA.#34.GBR.EU, but as
he is usually quite busy it is also supported by G2BGI @ GB7ZAA.#34.GBR.EU,
Traffic comes as free issue to all licienced radio Amateurs.

This program has been written using the evoluionary approach, please
feel free to mail any ideas [Good or Bad] to any of the above, If we
like it then we will include it in the next release.

Installation:
-------------
The Traffic program suite is not fussy about where it lives, but
in-order to manager the program files eassily it is suggested that
all the files are kept together in there own directory. [ C:\TRAFFIC ]

 Mininium System requirements:
   DESQview,
   LIM EMS 4.0 support,
BPQ switch s/w installed and running.
   HERC/CGA/EGA/VGA/SVGA Video card and monitor.

TRLOG Usage:
------------
As TRGUI will have nothing to display if TRLOG is not running the
TRLOG program should be started first, it has the following options :-

   TRLOG [?] [-p] [-d<dir>] [-s<BPQ_Stream>] Hostname Bpq_port_numbers

Where:
The ? option gives you additional usage information.

The '-p' options tells the program to wait until a key is hit before
proceeding. This allows the user to see any information displayed before
it is wisked off the screen.

The '-d' option is used to tell the program where to find the BPQCFG.BIN
file. This file is generated by the BPQ installation s/w and hence required
by the TRLOG program. [ Note: No spaces are allowed between the -d and the
  path. ]

The '-s' option tells the program which virtual BPQ stream to connect too.
If this option is not specified then the s/w uses virtual stream 29. It is
unwise to have two programs connected to the same virtual stream.

Hostname should be the name of the BPQ switch station, IE: GB7OJC, this
callsign is kept at the top of the heard list so you can see how your
machine is doing with respect to the rest of the World.

Bpq_port_numbers should be the port number you wish TRLOG to monitor.

Example:
  TRLOG G7OJC -p -dc:\bpq 2 6 7

This will start TRLOG logging ports '2', '6' and '7' using the
BPQ initialisation file C:\BPQ\BPQCFG.BIN.

TRGUI Usage:
------------
   TRGUI [?] [-p] [ -v<video_mode> ] Bpq_port_numbers

Where:
The ? option gives you additional usage information.

The '-p' options tells the program to wait until a key is hit before
proceeding. This allows the user to see any information displayed before
it is wisked off the screen.

The -v switch is used to specify the required Video_mode. [ If the
required Video mode is not specified then TRLOG will do its best to
recognise the Video board installed. If a Video mode of '?' is specified
then TRGUI will show you the currently available Video modes. Video
Modes that end in C0,C1,C2,C4 like CGAC0 specify a different palette
scheme should be used. ] [ Note: No spaces are allowed between the -v
and the requested video mode ]

Bpq_port_numbers should be the port number you wish TRLOG to monitor.
  [ IE: 1 2 7 8 ] You cannot specify any port number here which wasn't
specified to TRLOG when it was executed.

Notes:
------
To help you make the best of your screen etc, it is now possible to
run multiple version of the TRGUI program [even monitoring the same ports!]

Runtime keys:
-------------
Both TRLOG and TRGUI support the following runtime keys :-

    q / ESC / ALT_X : Quit
s : Save current logfile data in 'traffic.log'
z : Reset all entries in logfile to zero.
