                     UPGRADE-N TO THE K3BC SSTV

To add more flexibility to the various transmit programs, we have
added in addition to lettering capability, a picture SAVE function for
both permanent saving of a lettered pix or temporary storing of it for
transmitting later. Two buffers, F2 and F7, provide temporary stores.
For example, you might letter and move 2 file pixes from a CDROM to F2
and F7 for later Txmit. Or if you have a pix ready to send and you are
preempted by another station, you can exit TVT to go to RT, and while
enroute, stuff the pix temporarily in F2 or F7. F2 and F7 can be call-
ed up directly from the Txmit screen. To add further flexibility to
to TVT, you can now change your mind on which pix to send by keying F9
before you choose the Txmit mode, and return to the Txmit screen where
you can choose another mode album to look thru, or select a buffer pix
or replay the F3 last pix received. If you want to change the Path, or
the File Name Constraint, or the header, you still have to exit with Q
and recycle thru TVT. [see OPERATTV.TXT]
Since so many people seem to forget to change LT3 in the Txmit
programs when they get a new revision, we have added a nuisance note
which continues to appear until they make the LT3 match what is used
in RT. New files for these changes are TVT.BAS, ALCHVT.BAS, RT.BAS,
   VT.BAS, LVT.BAS, TX2.S1, and OPERATTV.TXT.
With WIN95 as the standard OS on new PC's, we have decided to add
an INSTALL program to make it easy to get all of the initial installa-
tion done including video card parameters. Everything can be done and
all except the receiving and transmitting programs can be RUN in the
MSDOS window. Exit to pure MSDOS is needed for these two timing criti-
cal programs. New files are INSTALL.BAT, INSTALL2.BAT,and VESAPARM.BAS
The TIF program was improved to work in AUTO for a wider range of
file sources. Also, error messages were added to explain cases where
it failed to convert. Also, two new fonts were added. New files are---
   TIFCONV.BAS, TIFCONVE.ASM, FONT2.ZIP, FONT3.ZIP, ALCHCONV.BAS, and
TVT.BAS. Similar, but somewhat less update was done to the TGA program
with new files TGA.BAT, TGACONVC.BAS, and TGACONVC.ASM added.
Further changes were made to TVT to display the selected picture
header early so you can change it quickly.Since the pix header is only
available in Martin 1 and Scottie 1 when you set HD=3 in the SYSTEM
CONFIG of TVT,it will only shown then. The header pix is then attached
to the chosen SSTV pix to see if there are color conflicts before you
   transmit.
Other files changed are PCXLABEL.BAS, TV2TIF.BAS, TX64GM.ASM, and
   PCXLABEL.ASM.

                                               Have fun,
                                               Ben Vester, K3BC
