   This is a joke, right?  Oe is undemocratic because his works are too
hard?  So we should bring back the farcical proletariat literature of the
twenties and thirties?  While I do not necessarily disagree with your
dislike of Oe, I think that your criteria leave much to be desired.  To
attempt to link Oe with the right wing is a complete distortion of the
truth, as any relatively close reading of his works or essays would reveal
("17" and "Seiji shonen shisu" being only two of the more obvious
examples).  To say that Oe has single-handedly cooled the peace movement
because he's "too bookish", is rather difficult for me to accept.  Rather,
it seems that Oe is generally considered one of the last activist writers
in Japan.  I am no expert on Oe, but I have done some small amount of
research, and I think that, if you intent to submit this for publication,
there are some major problems that need to be redressed, and your facts
checked...
