this is basically taken straight from gnome-libs and hacked to work by
itself, without all the extra garbage that comes with gnome. the
reason for doing this, in case you are wondering, is that there's no
particular reason why this "widget" should be gnome-only.

on the flip side, one possible reason why this isn't officially part
of GTK is that it's somewhat of a hack to begin with: 1) it's a port
originally from a Motif based widget, and 2) it isn't "pure" enough to
be part of GTK. e.g., a lot of code calls X directly, instead of
going through GDK (probably because GDK doesn't have the equivalent
nor necessary functionality to do everything).

i've made the version numbers the same as the gnome-libs version that
i hacked this from.

note that i am *NOT* the maintainer for this package, so bugs found in
using this should be reported to the gnome folks, and not me. and
yes, there are some known bugs/quirks about this widget. e.g., it
doesn't render tables (among other things) 100% correctly. however,
it is still useful for quickly viewing basic HTML as opposed to
loading up the big, bloated browsers.

if you want to get the original Motif widget, you can get it at:
